BY-L35 Electric Rear-Loading Garbage Truck: An Efficient Waste Collection Solution for Urban Sanitation

Recently, Baiyi’s BY-L35 electric rear-loading garbage truck was presented at the company’s production facility. The photos show the complete vehicle and cab details, highlighting its compact body design, enclosed cab, and rear-loading waste collection system.

The BY-L35 is a new-energy sanitation vehicle designed for household waste collection and transport. It is suitable for urban and rural sanitation, municipal landscaping, property-management services, factories, schools, hospitals, and other applications. Powered by a battery system, the vehicle combines economical operation, environmental benefits, and practical functionality for frequent daily waste collection.

Rear-Loading Design for More Efficient Waste Collection

The BY-L35 uses a rear-loading waste collection system. A lifting and tipping mechanism at the rear can automatically lift and empty standard 120L and 240L garbage bins. Together with the scraper compression system, the waste loaded into the body can be compressed to improve the use of available space and reduce the number of trips required during collection and transport.

The vehicle is equipped with a 3.5 m³ waste container, which is suitable for centralized collection in residential communities, property-management areas, schools, hospitals, factories, and similar locations. The body supports self-dumping, with a maximum dumping angle of 85° and a dumping height of 1,200 mm. It can also be connected with large, medium, and small garbage compactor trucks, supporting convenient transfer and centralized waste treatment.

Compatible with Standard Garbage Bins

The BY-L35 rear bin-lifting mechanism uses a steel four-bar linkage structure with slider lifting and a self-locking bin-pressing function. It can handle commonly used 120L and 240L standard garbage bins. The rear-hanging design helps make the lifting, tipping, and emptying process smoother, supporting improved operator productivity.

This operating method is suitable for communities and public areas with multiple waste collection points and frequent collection requirements. Sanitation workers can collect bins point by point along a planned route and then transport the waste to a transfer station or designated treatment facility.

Electric Drive for Greener Sanitation

The BY-L35 is equipped with a 72V / 200Ah lead-acid battery, with a lithium battery available as an option, and uses a 72V / 7.5kW drive motor. It offers a driving range of 80–120 km and a maximum travel speed of up to 30 km/h, meeting the daily collection needs of urban roads, residential communities, and internal roads in industrial parks.

The electric drive system operates with relatively low noise, helping reduce disturbance in residential, school, and hospital environments. Compared with conventional fuel-powered garbage trucks, its electric design can reduce tailpipe emissions during operation, making it suitable for greener urban sanitation and lower-carbon fleet management.

Compact Body for Urban Roads and Community Access

The BY-L35 measures 4,150 × 1,500 × 2,000 mm and has a minimum turning radius of 5.5 m, allowing it to maneuver effectively on residential roads, back streets, factory roads, and internal industrial-park routes.

As shown in the photos, the vehicle features an enclosed cab with a tempered-glass front windshield. Large glass areas at the front and on both sides provide the driver with a broad field of vision. The cab is equipped with a wiper and waterproof leather seats, with a rated capacity of two occupants, making it suitable for daily sanitation driving and collection operations.

Robust Frame and Reliable Operating Systems

The BY-L35 frame is built from truck-grade steel plates. Its longitudinal and transverse beams are assembled using an integral cold-riveting process, providing high structural strength, strong load-bearing capacity, and resistance to deformation. Electrophoretic anti-corrosion treatment improves the vehicle’s resistance to corrosion.

The vehicle uses an integrated full-floating heavy-duty rear axle, a vacuum-assisted braking system, and electric power steering. The front axle has a rated capacity of 2 tons, while the rear axle has a rated capacity of 3 tons, supporting the demands of waste collection operations. Its 185/R14 LT heavy-duty tubeless tires offer strong load capacity, wear resistance, and resistance to air leakage, making them suitable for frequent urban sanitation work.

Applications for Waste Collection and Transport

The BY-L35 can be used for:

  • Household waste collection in urban and rural areas
  • Residential communities and property-management zones
  • Municipal landscaping and public facilities
  • Factories and industrial parks
  • Schools, hospitals, and hotels
  • Back streets and urban secondary roads

By combining rear bin lifting, waste tipping, basic compression, and self-dumping functions, the BY-L35 integrates several waste collection and transport processes into one electric sanitation vehicle. It provides sanitation service providers with a more efficient, environmentally responsible, and standardized waste collection solution.

Conclusion

The BY-L35 electric rear-loading garbage truck combines electric drive, automatic standard-bin lifting, rear loading, waste compression, and self-dumping functions. It is suitable for residential communities, property-management areas, factories, schools, hospitals, and municipal sanitation operations.

With its compact and maneuverable body, 3.5 m³ waste container, 80–120 km driving range, and reliable rear-loading system, the BY-L35 can help sanitation teams improve collection efficiency while providing a cleaner, more economical, and practical new-energy solution for urban household waste management.
